Hikari no Kiseki ~ CLANNAD 10th Anniversary Art Book ~

On April 28, 2004, the CLANNAD Visual Novel was released on PC. Since that time, there have been two anime series, a movie, as well as the visual novel released on various game console systems. This book covered the history of CLANNAD.

It came in a cardboard slipcover case. It measured 221 x 339 x 31 mm. The book itself was hardcover. Each book was numbered on the back of the book with a metal plate on the lower right hand side. There was no way of knowing the number till you take the book out of the slipcase. This particular one I received was numbered 4129.

At the front of the book was a single-sided, three panel foldout of Fuko. She was underwater with a red starfish on her head. The first section of the book included seven images from the visual novel as well as some text about the story. The Guest Illustrations were full page artwork from different artists. I do not recall seeing any of this artwork before. The Official Material was from the visual novel. It included images from the game, official artwork, and some sketches. The TV Animation covered both TV Series. Memorial Anthology included several side stories. This included Kyou, Fuko, and Ushio. In addition, there was a 16 page manga short. Cinema Animation covered the movie. On the last page of the book a number of messages was written by the staff. Except for the short stories and the manga short, the entire book was in color.

Kanon Visual Fanbook

Kanon was originally a Visual Novel first released on the PC. This collection included six A4 size books which came in a plastic slipcover case. The format for the five character books were all the identical. Each one included a poster which was the same as their respective cover (total of five posters included). Each book was 32 pages in length and in full color. The character books included a section of story (of the respective character), long interview, faces, secrets, dairy, and epilogue. The Game System Book included line art / sketches of the characters. It also printed out the various choices and routes that can be taken in the game.

Fate Complete 1 Art Material (Techgian Style)

This book was from the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel. The packaging for this book was a bit different then most books. It came in a white cardboard box (top image). Attached to the box, on the back, was a sticker that included the ISBN number, UPC bar code, and the Yen Price. Opening the box revealed a red slipcase, holding the book. On the front of the slipcase was text written in German. The slipcase was designed to hold the three books from this series (5 have been published so far - 4 from Fate/Stay Night and 1 from Fate/Hollow). This was the first volume which covered art material from the Fate Universe. The entire book was in color.

CLANNAD Visual Fan Book

This book covered the CLANNAD PC Visual Novel. It came in white box (top image) that opened similar to a novel. Inside was the book (bottom image). On the inside of the box had image of Fuko on the left and Akio on the right. Also, there were various deformed sketches of various characters in the background. The book itself had a clear dustcover on it. Similar to the original pressing of the Lapata OST CD, there were printed text on it that blended in with the book. On the back, the following was printed in English: "The place changes and goes. Like a wind, like clouds. Like the traces of the heart, no halt at the places." It was from the first verse to the English Song "Ana" that was played at various times during the game. The entire book was in color.

ONE ~Kagayaku Kisetsu he~ Original Soundtrack

This was the soundtrack to the ONE ~Kagayaku Kisetsu he~ PC Visual Novel that was created by Tactics. "Kagayaku Kisetsu he" means "To the Radiant Seeson." There were no vocal tracks. Track 4 was Rumi Nanase's theme. Track 5 was Mizuka Nagamori's theme. Track 6 was Akane Satomura's theme. Track 7 was Mio Kouzuki's theme. Track 10 was Misaki Kawana's theme. On the back of the case, "Bonus Truck" was actually printed instead of "track". Following the release of this game, most of the staff who created this game left and formed another company - Key.

On the cover, the following was printed in English: "There is such thing as forever..." Those words, I wondered who said them. The words happened to remember as I looked up at the sky. They seemed to be the start of samething. Yeah, they were definitely the beginning. The beginning of the end. There's voices calling me from opposite directions."

The Ultimate Art Collection of "Kanon"

This book covered the Kanon Visual Novel PC game. It came in a plastic slipcase. The book itself was white with snowflakes embroided on the cover. The above image was on the slipcase, similiar to how the third Nadisco Soundtrack was released. It also came with a poster with the same image as the slipcase cover. The entire book was in color. In each of the five main characters' section, it included various images from the game. For each image, it provided the rough sketch, clean-up, color sketch, and then the final image (as used in the game). It also had a part for the faces. There was also a page at the end of each character chapter called "Work Shop." It showed six steps and images of a sketch and then the final (sketch) image. The character design section was made up of various preliminary sketches of the characters. Sales Promote Sketch showed the various images and sketches used in other merchandise. This included the Visual Fan Book, telephone card, New Years Greetings, Color Paper, and Soundtrack. Illustration Works included full page works seven different works. This was the soundtrack to the Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate (Love, Election & Chocolate) Visual Novel Game. It came in an oversize digipack measuring 192 x 142 mm.
